Pure Animation: Steps to Creation with 56 Cutting-edge Animators

This new book gathers together the work of 57 of the most dynamic animation artists from around the world. Informative case studies examine the processes involved in creating cutting-edge animation and are accompanied by stunning visual examples of each artist's work.
Showcasing such diverse talents as Bl:nd, Digital Kitchen, Sylvain Chomet, Foreign Office, and Freestyle Collective, Pure Animation offers a unique insight into the art of both established and emerging practitioners. From web commercials to film title sequences and from traditional cel animation to the latest CGI techniques, each project featured includes a profile of the artist or studio; a step-by-step explanation of the development process, from concept to final product; details of the tools and technology employed; and production credits. Contact or website information is also provided for every artist and studio, making this an essential reference for amateur and professional animators, teachers, students, and anyone interested in new directions in graphic art and design.
