About the Authors

Mette Hjort is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature and Film Studies at the University of Hong Kong and Associate Professor in Aalborg University in Denmark. She has written, edited and co-edited a number of books, including Cinema and Nation (2002) and The Danish Directors: Dialogues on a Contemporary National Cinema (2001).

Scott MacKenzie is Associate Professor of Film and Media at Queen's University, Canada. His recent publications include, as co-editor, 'Arctic Cinemas and the Documentary Ethos' (2018); Guy Debord: The Cinema, too, Must Be Destroyed (2018); as co-editor, Arctic Environmental Modernities: From the Age of Polar Exploration to the Era of the Anthropocene (2017); as co-editor, Films on Ice: Cinemas of the Arctic (2015) and Film Manifestos and Global Cinema Cultures (2014).
