Jeff Davis didn't sign up to be a hero. He is an unassuming middle-aged insurance adjuster who just wants to pay his bills and be left alone. That simple pursuit ends when he is called upon to investigate an automobile accident that claimed the life of a young girl who is apparently the fifth victim in a series of Arkansas kidnappings. About the Author

Rick Baber, insurance adjuster, photographer, and ex-private investigator, has been writing stories since the age of twelve. "Purity" - his first venture into the mystery genre - is his third book, following "Dinner with WT" (a humor anthology) and "To Gain the Motherland" (an epic sci-fi tale), along with hundreds of newspaper columns. He lives in Springdale, Arkansas, with his wife, Becky.
