中国农业大学经济管理学院源于1927年国立北平大学农学院成立的农业经济系。1949年原北京大学农学院、清华大学农学院和华北大学农学院合并成立北京农业大学，同时下设农业经济系。1952年高等院校院系调整时，从全国抽调的一批著名农业经济学家壮大了北京农业大学农业经济系。1985年扩建为农业经济管理学院，1993年扩建为经济管理学院。原管理工程学院创立于1995年，由中国农业大学原乡镇企业与社会发展学院、管理工程教研室、系统工程教研室及农业经济教研室合并而成。2002年6月经济管理学院和管理工程学院合并组建成现在的经济管理学院。本书主要收录了近几年中国农业大学经济管理学院农业经济史专业博士论文，从不同侧面反映了这几年学院的重要研究成果。
