This is a fictional account of the end of the present universe and creation of new one in the form of a short story book. Two Suktas or hymns from the ancient Rg Veda form the basis of this work - Nasadiya Sukta and Purusha Sukta. The narration is fictional, except for the summaries of the two Suktas in the beginning and the end of the book. Nasadiya Sukta talks about the origin of the universe in a philosophical manner. Though it provides a concise version of the birth of the universe, it raises many questions rather than providing answers. It leaves adequate space for multiple interpretations. For the religiously inclined, it's a short account of how the supreme being created the universe. But for those who question religious beliefs, it allows for the interpreation of a universe originating without someone's will or intent. Any which way, it gives wonderful insights into the inquisitive and reflective minds of our ancient seers.Purusha Sukta on the other hand, can be seen as a hymn of glorification of the One who created the universe and pervades it. It is possibly the most well-known vedic hymn, recited in almost every Hindu religious occasion. A great attribute of the Sukta is that it does not give a name to the Purusha, thus allowing different sects of Hinduism to draw their own interpretation of who that could be.All the characters in this book, construed to be the original beings of the universe, have been portrayed with undefined gender identities.
