The Puzzle Box

'Alex thought she was on the threshold of a new, fulfilling life. Cupid had aimed his bow and a mesmerizing arrow hit her right between the eyes. However, a huge package filled with trouble landed on her narrow strip of paradise and from then on, the clock would tick without pause until every piece fit into the proper slot. A completely different morning would have to dawn before Alex and her friend Mallory could accurately measure the mind blowing consequences of their choices, feelings and shortcomings. To redress the balance of their particular situation, time and thought would provide compensation, strengthening good relationships, and those beyond forgiveness would turn in a different direction, without as much as a decent explanation.'
