Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the King's (Liverpool Regiment) 11th Battalion Pioneers, Divisional Troops, 14th Division, covering May 1915 to May 1918 across 206 pages. It names 65 places across 99 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one casualty and personnel return and one report or narrative. Among the papers are: Roll of officers 11th (S) Bn. the King's Liverpool Regt. (Pioneers); 14th Division Return in Accordance with 14th Division Routine order No. 1029 Dated. The diary opens at Watts Common Aldershot on 17 May 1915. 1915 is spent at Ypres, Watou, Vlamertinghe, Rubrouck and Watts Common Aldershot. 1916 at Arras, Buneville, Elverdinghe, Berneville and Dainville. 1917 at Arras, Telegraph Hill, Kemmel, Wulverghem and Berneville. 1918 is the most travelled year, 28 places against 20 in the next busiest, and is spent at Montescourt, Clastres 66C, Clenleu, Molinghem and Torcy. It closes at Torcy on 31 May 1918. Arras is where it spent longest, 206 days across eight separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 84 days at Ypres. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Fricourt Wood. In 1916 it is also recorded at Ledringhem, Cassel Longueau, Villers Bocage, Authieule, Warlurzel, Fosseux, Ivergny, Outrebois Frohen Le Grand, Beaumetz and Dernacourt. In 1917 it is also recorded at Dainville, Habarcq, Grand Rullecourt, Pommier, Bailleulmont, Neuville Vitasse, St. Leger-Le-Authie, Locre, N.E. Of Hazebrouck and Dickebusch. In 1918 it is also recorded at St Martin Au Laert, St Quentin, Clastres, Detroit Bleu, Beaumont En Beine, Noyon, Sermaize, Thiescourt, Elincourt and Remy.…
