An important early study by Qatar's national oil company. Original b/w illustrated wraps 23x30cm. Printed at the Qatar National Printing Press, Doha. Interiors near fine. QGPC was formed in 1974 in the wake of the Oil Crisis to take full state control of the nation's oil and gas resources from foreign hands. Five years in the making, this preliminary atlas edited by Dutch geologist J.W. (Jaap Willem) Focke for QGPC (Offshore Operations) Petroleum Engineering Department, illustrates the geology of some of Qatar's major reservoirs and seals. It draws on in-house data, and from Shell and Robertson Research, noting that much further work needs to be done (Preface). Contents include: 1. Introduction; 2. Recent Environments of Deposition; 3.
