Sections numbered individually as follows: (5), 10, 25, 4, 12, 12, 7, 32, 9, 14, 10, 28, 10, 9, 11, 13, 56, 4, 14, 12, 3, 8, (2)pp illustrated throughout with colour and b/w maps, photographic aerial and ground views, specimens etc. Wraps very good, spotted, with correction fluid to the top right corner. Interiors near fine. QGPC was formed in 1974 in the wake of the Oil Crisis to take full state control of the nation's oil and gas resources from foreign hands. Five years in the making, this preliminary atlas edited by Dutch geologist J.W. (Jaap Willem) Focke for QGPC (Offshore Operations) Petroleum Engineering Department, illustrates the geology of some of Qatar's major reservoirs and seals. It draws on in-house data, and from Shell and Robertson Research, noting that much further work needs to be done (Preface). Contents include: 1. Introduction; 2. Recent Environments of Deposition; 3. Tertiary (not present, with the Contents page indicating "Chapter to be added in future"); 4. Cretaceous; 5. Upper Jurassic; 6. Middle Jurassic; 7. Per-Triassic; and 8. Ordovician-Lower Permian (pre-Khuff); Index. This looks to be extremely rare, with Worldcat recording only 1 location (OCLC 605311251: University of Qatar).
