Duane V. Knudson, PhD, is an associate professor and associate chair of the department of physical education and exercise science at California State University at Chico. In addition to publishing research on qualitative analysis of human movement and its pedagogy, he has also published numerous papers on the biomechanics of sport and exercise. Dr. Knudson's presentations at national and international scientific meetings on qualitative analysis have included the International Symposium on Biomechanics and Sport. He is a fellow for the research consortium of AAHPERD and is former chairman of the biomechanics academy of NASPE. In 1994 the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh named him Outstanding Young Alumni. His hobbies include tennis, running, and reading.
Craig S. Morrison, EdD, is a professor of and department chair for physical education at Southern Utah University. He is well published in the qualitative analysis field, authoring 10 experimental studies and five review articles in national and international journals. Additionally, Dr. Morrison has made 18 presentations on qualitative analysis at the state, regional, national, and international level. He has received three grants to produce instructional videos about qualitative analysis. The Australian Sports Commission has asked him to develop a Web-based class on qualitative analysis for its coaching certification program. In 1988 Dr. Morrison was honored by AAHPERD for a video that he helped produce on qualitative analysis. His hobbies include triathlon training, playing guitar, painting, and drawing.
