From Quality to Excellence

This book has two parts. The first part deals with the subject of Software
Process Quality. This refers to set of activities involved in instituting
and improving processes to assure predictability to business, leveraging
Quality models such as ISO, CMMI and methodologies such as Lean and
Six-sigma. This part of the book is designed to serve as a ready-reference
to the young and evolving Quality Assurance Professional in the software
industry. To keep it brief, only value-added inputs such as learnings and
anecdotes are presented without duplicating the contents already existing in
internet or other books.

The second part of the book is universal in nature. Moving ahead from
Quality, this part of the book handles the subtler and evasive aspect -
Excellence. Here the author brings-in his explorations in the fields of
Indian literature, Sanskrit and Yoga to evolve a recipe for creating
Excellence at social and corporate levels and concludes with baby steps,
which every inspired reader can take without trying to boil the ocean.
