The Quality of Higher Education in Morocco in Light of Current Practices: Science and Technology Education

“We must implement the recommendations made in recent years and bring about the modern, high-quality education envisioned by the new constitution. In this regard, we must reevaluate our approach and the methods currently in use in schools to shift from a teaching model centered on the teacher and their performance—and limited to the transmission of knowledge to learners— to an approach based on learner responsiveness and focused on strengthening their own skills and giving them the opportunity to unleash their creativity and inventiveness, acquire practical skills, and internalize the rules of living together while respecting freedom, equality, diversity, and difference.” His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. This inevitably leads to a profound rethinking of the school system. The promotion of quality in higher education, which is the subject of this book, particularly in scientific and technical disciplines, requires the implementation of new teaching practices oriented toward practical skills rather than the accumulation of knowledge.
