The Quantum Sword

THE STATE CALLED IT PROJECT VECTOR. MORDRAKE CALLED IT A WEAPON. JOHN HAMMOND CALLED IT A CRIME SCENE.

Professor Mordrake’s Project Meridian sought to harmonise society’s increasing electromagnetic emissions with Earth’s magnetic field to protect human bioresonance from this debilitating interplay. When its research was stolen by the shadowy Project Vector, those discoveries were transformed into a devastating Pulsed Energy Projectile—a weapon whose first test killed ten soldiers, including Mordrake’s son. Months later, Mordrake himself died under suspicious circumstances.

Now, as the scientists behind Project Vector begin dying one by one, a reality-tearing “Hole in the World” has opened in Derbyshire’s High Peak. With NATO and US intelligence pressuring the UK government for answers, MI5 turns to Dr John Hammond—a brilliant former DCI whose logical genius and refusal to play politics have left him operating as an expensive but indispensable ghost. Assisted by Assistant Chief Constable Richard Raven, Hammond uncovers the ultimate threat:
the Quantum Sword—an AI-driven biomechanical hybrid that has infiltrated the National Grid through nanoscopic Syncbots, turning Britain’s own infrastructure into a weapon.

As the murders escalate and the infection spreads through subsea interconnectors into mainland Europe, power grids across the continent face imminent collapse. With reality itself beginning to fray and millions at risk, a desperate government sees a nuclear strike as the only way to bury decades of state secrets. To stop it, Hammond must
combine cutting-edge physics with razor-sharp detective work before a catastrophic back-surge tears reality apart.

Physics doesn’t take sides. The Sword doesn’t miss.
