The laws concerning game, whether it be the birds, animals or fish of a country, cannot be made itoo widely known. Great as the quantity of game is in this Pro vince, and numerous as the varieties are, hunting and fishing during seasons when protection is provided by law would soon deplete the stock.
This book is a synopsis of the whole law, and is compiled from the numerous statutes and orders in council now in force. It is intended as a handbook for the guidance and protection of sportsmen of every country who hunt and fish within the Province, and also as a book of reference for those whose duty it is to enforce the law.
The numerous illustrations throughout the book show a few only-of the varieties of game to be found. It is intended to continue these illustrations, and add to their number, in future editions.
Some useful and practical hints on camping have been added. These are the result of long experience, and will be found to be of value to the uninitiated.
