Item description from seller

pp. 679, [1]. 8vo. Textured green leather over boards with elaborate gilt rules, lettering and decoration to the spine, and front board, all edges gilt; three raised bands, four compartments. Striking marbled endpapers, silk ribbon marker. Entirely without blemish; fine. A thoroughly lovely volume recounting the legal proceedings undertaken by the British Crown against Riel. To be distinguished from other offerings by the same publisher which are bound in composite leather. "This special edition of The Queen v. Louis Riel has been privately printed for the members of the Legal Classics Library by Arcata Graphics/Kingsport. Film was prepared from first editions of 1974 and 1885 courtesy of the University of Toronto Press, Yale University Law School Library, and the Law Library of the University of California, Berkeley. New type matter was composed by P&M Typesetting, Inc., in Caledonia. The text paper was especially made for this edition by P.H. Glatfelter Company. The volume was been bound in genuine leather by Arcata Graphics/Sherwood. Endleaves are a specially commissioned design of Richard J . Wolfe. Edges are gilded; the spine is stamped in 22-karat gold. Cover stampings and design of the edition by Daniel B. Bianchi and Selma Ordewer.".
