Cyndi Duncan and Georgie Patrick started writing cookbooks seventeen years ago. With busy lifestyle and family members that have varying schedules, writing their "One Foot in the Kitchen" cookbook series was a natural decision. Each title in the series – Quick Crockery Cooking, Quick Mexican Cooking, Quick Soups 'n Salads, Quick Hors d'oeuvres, Quick Desserts and Quick Lunches & Brunches – is winner of the distinguished Evvy Award presented by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.
Cyndi and Georgie differ in their opinion of what makes a quick meal. Cyndi is a "from scratch" cook who cooks ahead and freezes, creates meals from leftovers and uses fresh produce from her garden. Georgie, on the other hand, often creates delectable meals with items chosen from the deli case and convenient, prepared foods from the grocery store. Both readily admit to learning from the other's cooking methods and are committed to writing usable cookbooks for cooks at any skill level.
Georgie graduated from Colorado State University with a teaching endorsement in language arts and history; Cyndi graduated from Colorado State University with a Home Economics degree. They both are married to engineers and live in Greeley, Colorado; they each have three children and a mother that cooks.
