About the Author
Doug Sleeter is the Founder of The Sleeter Group. Doug spent his early childhood in Fresno, CA moving to Santa Cruz, CA in 1974. In 1979 he attended the University of California Santa Cruz where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science. Doug worked for several years as a staff accountant for several accounting firms. In addition to his accounting background, Doug has extensive experience in the software industry working with software developers and industry leaders such as Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Silicon Graphics and Quorum Software. Doug's in-depth knowledge of QuickBooks and his systems approach to solving small business accounting problems has earned him the reputation of being one of the nation's leading QuickBooks and small business accounting software experts. Doug was a pioneer in developing the first QuickBooks seminars in the country and was selected to develop early Intuit training materials. He has consulted with Intuit on the development of the QuickBooks product line and he also consults with several other software and hardware developers on product design, marketing, and distribution strategies. In addition to consulting directly with developers and small business owners including several international clients, Doug provides expert level support and consulting to hundreds of QuickBooks consultants through the Sleeter Group's Certified Consultant's Network, a group of highly trained QuickBooks experts. He is the host of the Sleeter Group's annual Accounting Software Consulting Conference, bringing together consultants and software developers from across the US and Canada. Doug is the author of over 40 QuickBooks reference books and courseware materials and writes a regular column, The QuickBooks Advisor for The CPA Technology Advisor magazine.
