The Quiet Before the Run vol. 2 (Paperback)

Paperback. They appear for a moment and then vanish beyond the edge of the story. This second volume of The quiet before the run gathers some of the brief appearances of greyhounds in European literature: a line of verse, a simile, a hunting scene, a dog resting at its master's feet. Fleeting presences that move through poems, chronicles, and stories, leaving behind an image of remarkable clarity.Following these traces scattered across languages, centuries, and literary traditions, the reader encounters once again a figure that has, for generations, evoked the same enduring ideas: speed, distance, and the horizon. For even when it appears only for an instant, the greyhound always seems ready to continue its journey beyond the page.
