The Quilt Digest, Vol. 5

Book by

The fifth edition of an annual publication, this volume is a bonanza for serious quilters, with a history of antiques and news of developments in the craft. Editor Kile and others write absorbing accounts on related subjects, starting with American family life during the 19th century. Photos help bring the reader close to the women of the times who sewed messages into quilts, bonding one generation to the next. Succeeding chapters contain interviews with quilters in Australia, Germany and other countries, and illustrate creations that prove gifted people raise the craft to an art. Striking color photos illustrate the text, which is a source of inspiration for quilters and of valuable information for collectors.
