Quilt It with Love: The Project Linus Story: 20+ Quilt Patterns & Stories to Warm Your Heart

This celebration of Project Linus presents over 20 quilting projects perfect for giving--and for inspiring quilters to do good in the world.  When a child is seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need, Project Linus comes to the rescue with a new, lovingly handmade blanket or afghan. With this precious gift, a volunteer quilter can bring a little warmth, security, comfort, and joy into that childs life. Quilt It with Love tells the story of this wonderful organization, sharing stories from both recipients and donors and showcasing fabulous projects--often made with easy-to-use fabric precuts--that even beginners can make. Designed largely for children and teens, these quilts feature fun extras, like pockets for storing stuffed animals or a pattern that doubles as a game board.
 

Authors Carol Babbitt (National President of Project Linus) and Mary Balagna (Vice President) direct and orchestrate the activities of the Project Linus organization and individual chapters. Both have been involved with the organization since 1998, and maintain a very busy Central Illinois chapter.  Project Linus is a nonprofit organization that brings handmade blankets to children in need. Since 1995, the organization has grown to 400 chapters nationally (in all 50 states), and volunteers have made and donated more than four million quilts. Project Linus is well-known and much loved among the quilting community and beyond, including coverage in Parade, People, Readers Digest, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Quiltmaker, Quilters Newsletter, Guidepost, Parents Magazine, Real Simple, Womans Day, and on the NBC Nightly News, Today Show, and Oprah.
