On the other hand, this is definitely intended for sewers who understand the meticulous nature and endless patience necessary to finish a project. The author of The Ultimate Quilting Book (2000) has parlayed her expertise into yet another tome, executed with clear instructions and illustrations. Each of the four pattern sections--strip-piecing, squares and triangles, mosaics, and curves--is prefaced by a quilt gallery, a broad-brush explanation of the design's history, followed by similar groupings, such as nine patches, bow ties, tumbling blocks, and drunkard's paths.
