While twenty-five years is not long in the history of a city, La Quinta's heritage has a rich legacy which goes back to the turn of the 19th century when land grants of 160 acre parcels were given out to homesteaders who would then receive title to the land after five years. From this humble beginning, the City of La Quinta has always brought visitors to the Coachella Valley.
