A very good copy in very good slightly edgeworn dust jacket with a faded spine. Campbell's firsthand account and defense of his time leading the New Guard, a massive, right-wing paramilitary organisation that operated in Australia during the height of the Great Depression The group was fiercely loyal to the British Empire and dedicated to maintaining constitutional "law and order." However, its primary target was the controversial, radical NSW Labor Premier, Jack Lang, whom they believed was steering the state toward a communist revolution. At its peak, the New Guard boasted roughly 50,000 members, making it the largest far-right, paramilitary organization in Australian history.
