About the Authors

Cl�ment Rosset (1939–2018) was educated at L’�cole normale sup�rieure, Paris, and taught philosophy at the University of Montreal and the University of Nice.

Chris Turner is a translator and writer living in Birmingham, UK. He has translated numerous books from French and German, including, for Seagull Books, titles by Jean-Paul Sartre, Roland Barthes, Andr� Gorz, Yves Bonnefoy, and Pascal Quignard, among others.
