Splendida legatura in pieno marocchino rosso firmata Chambolle Duru eseguita nell`ultimo quarto del XIX secolo; al piatto anteriore eleganti elementi geometrici con titolo entro tondo posto al centro, angolari a stemma con croce interna recante il motto Memor Semper del proprietario Henry Chasles, triplice filetto, il tutto finemente impresso in oro, al piatto posteriore stessi decori con al centro entro tondo Basan 1771, sempre in oro; dorso a 6 scomparti con titolo e ricchi ornamenti impressi in oro, dentelle interne sempre in oro come per i tagli. 12 pagine di testo inciso, 1 frontespizio inciso figurato, 1 tavola. con ritratto inciso del Duca di Choiseul e 127 tavole fuori testo incise all`acquaforte su rame (numerate da 1 a 123, le tavole più alcune bis). Ex-libris inciso Henry Chasles applicato all`interno del piatto anteriore. Note sulla legatura. René Victor Chambolle, nacque nel 1834 e morì nel 1898 e Hippolyte Duru morì nel 1884. Associati o da soli con grande talento legarono in modo straordinario quanto raffinato i più bei libri del loro tempo, si associarono nel 1861. Esemplare in ottime condizioni conservative. Cfr. Sixième édition [.]\", Paris 1912, 115 Magnificent full red morocco signed Chambolle Duru made in the last quarter of the nineteenth century; on the front cover elegant geometric elements with a title within a round placed in the center, coat of arms corners with an internal cross bearing the motto Memor Semper of the owner Henry Chasles, triple fillet, all finely impression in gold, on the back cover the same decorations with in the center within a round eldquo;Basan 1771erdquo;, also in gold; spine with title, gilt decoration, internal dentelles always gilt as for the edges. 12 pages of engraved text, 1 engraved title page illustrated, 1 plate with an engraved portrait of the Duke of Choiseul and 127 covers out of text engraved in etching on copper (numbered from 1 to 123, the covers plus some bis).
