Half leather and marbled boards, quite rubbed at all extremities and spine (top of which is chipped across above text-block level), less so to boards but , both joints cracked with fr. joint coming loose. Weekly Register: 823+431; Political House that Jack Built, 19th edition unpaginated with 13 'cuts'; The Man in the Moon 6th edition, unpaginated with 15 'cuts', A Political Christmas Carol no edition given, unpaginated but 8 pp. with 5 ill. 'cuts' and musical score, includes also "The Doctor" (2 pp.)+ Advertisement (last p.) these last two were in fact issued as supplements to The Political House that Jack Built, hence lack of pagination and no date to A Political Christmas Carol, Political A, Apple-Pie 5th edition, unpaginated with 23 'cuts'. (Acknowledgments to Rev. Julian Hills for this clarification.)The five additional pieces are all satirical verse. Although Hone published all of them his name as author only appears for the Weekly Register. All the contents are clean, tight and unmarked, front end-paper insecure due to cracked fr. joint problem, top edge has some ingrained dustiness. Binding needs conservation but contents all very good and all scarce, despite edition numbers for some of the additional pieces they were obviously originally fairly ephemeral pamphlets. 14 cm x 21 cm.
