Samuel Moses James Woods (1867-1931) represented Somerset, Australia and England at cricket and Cambridge University, Somerset and England at rugby football. Although born in Sydney he came to England in 1884 and attended Brighton College before going up to Cambridge, then onto Somerset. He represented Australia several times on their 1888 tour to the UK, and also went on several English tours to America, South Africa and West Indies. Small 8vo. [v] + 211pp. + [5] publisher's adverts. Portrait frontis. (of Woods in his rugby kit). Light blue cloth, with some marks to covers. Good condition.
