An important collection of South Carolina laws and reports from the first year of the Civil War. Included are several reports assessing the financial strength of the state, and on the functioning of various schools, including the state's military academies. Includes an index. Parrish & Willingham locate only thirteen copies, one of them incomplete. Scarce. PARRISH & WILLINGHAM 3840. OCLC 23854055. Gathered signatures, string-tied as issued. Lower fore-edge of titlepage chipped, a few small holes affecting text in two places. Some scattered foxing, but internally about very good, untrimmed and largely unopened.
