THERE IS NO DUST JACKET.THERE IS SUN FADING OF THE UPPER 1/4 OF THE BLUE PAPER COVERED COVERS. THE RED CLOTH SPINE COVERING IS UNAFFECTED. THE INTERIOR IS TIGHT AND CLEAN. THIS ISSUE CONTAINS A JAMES T. FARRELL STORY THAT WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN "PAGANY" MAGAZINE IN 1932. THE STORY THAT IS TITLED 'TWENTY-FIVE BUCKS" IS ABOUT A WORN OUT OLDER PUG FIGHTER WHO IS MATCHED WITH A YOUNG AND UPCOMING BOXER WHO BEATS THE OLDER FIGHTER UNMERCIFULLY. THE PUG FIGHTER DIES FROM THE BEATING. THE STORY WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN "PAGANY" JULY - SEPTEMBER, 1932. THE STORY WAS COLLECTED AND PUBLISHED IN THE 1934 VANGUARD COLLECTION OF JAMES T. FARRELL'S SHORT STORIES "CALICO SHOES." THIS HISTORICAL VOLUME OF A LITERARY MAGAZINE CONTAINS FACSIMILE LETTERS OF MOST OF THE WRITERS AND POETS WITH THEIR SIGNATURE.
