788 pages. Hardcover: H 25.75cm x L 16.75cm. Contemporary full calf leather binding heavily rubbed with some staining and several bug bore holes; maroon title label missing from near spine head; large loss to spine's lower black label but with gilt stamped date still mostly present; faded/rubbed black stamped lettering "Property of Mississippi" still discernable just above spine heel; shallow leather loss at spine head with heel abraded, scuffing along board edges with corners bumped and worn. Some toning, soiling, and stains along text block edges; lacking front free endpaper and flyleaf; pages 1-4 (title leaf and preface) chipped at bottom corners; pages 713-746 have creased at bottom fore-edge corners; large loss to rear flyleaf; missing rear free endpaper; old pencil and antiquarian ink inscriptions on rear pastedown; varied foxing throughout. Front hinge shaken with lesser splitting to rear hinge; some stress points to text block but overall binding remains reasonably firm. A fair copy but an interesting compilation for it was only Mississippi's tenth code overall and, as it should be noted, Mississippi was still under a Reconstruction government having only been readmitted to the Union on February 23, 1870. Please note that this large book has an approximate shipping weight of 4.75 pounds (2.15 kg) and will require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail. {MS Shelf #1}.…
