This edition, preface dated March 20, 1863, has the official report of General Braxton Bragg, apparently quickly suppressed. Howes B-422. Full brown pebbled cloth, gilt spine titling and illustration. General wear, spine rumpled and dull, spine ends worn through, large faded areas on front, small fades on spine and rear, small stains, lengthy but neat pen inscription on first page, some pencil scribbles, foxing in the text, map badly foxed. 476 pages + 2 pages ads at rear, missing rear free endsheet and possibly several pages of advertising; rear inner hinge literally hanging on by a thread.
