Containing instructions for Ranging Curves and setting out Lines and Levels in earthworks, permanent way, bridges and viaducts on the square, on the skew, and on curves. A treatise on taking borings with practical rules for designing works, and getting out working drawings of masonry and brickwork, timber, wrought iron and cast iron and examples of specifications, and tables for earthwork. 200pp well illustrated with diagrams throughout the texts, numerous tables and 12 full page plates five of which are folding. Sometime professionally rebacked to a high standard with original spine relaid.

The book shop was established in 2001 and is housed in a listed 17th century building. The village of Farningham has iron age origins, with much Roman settlement, and is today still predominantly 18th century in character. The shop is named after Wadard, one of Farningham's Domesday landlords, a henchman of Bishop Odo, William the Conquerers brother,and featured on the Bayeaux tapestry. …
