How to Raise an Intuitive Eater : Raising the Next Generation With Food and Body Confidence

Sumner Brooks is a mom and licensed registered dietitian nutritionist (LD, RDN) based in Oregon who has spent over 13 years working in the field of nutrition and eating disorders. Her experience includes providing nutrition therapy for adolescents and adults, public speaking and pursuing advanced training in trauma-informed, weight-inclusive healthcare. She is also the founder of the online training platform Eating Disorder Registered Dietitians and Professionals (EDRD Pro).

AMEE SEVERSON is a Registered Dietitian (RD) in the Washington State (CD) with a private practice outside of Seattle, Washington. Amee specializes in eating disorder recovery, healing and preserving food-body relationships, and focuses on gender-inclusive and LGBTQ+ affirming care. She is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and a Certified Body Trust Provider.

Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, CEDS-C, FAND, is a nutrition therapist in private practice with forty-five years of experience, specializing in eating disorders, Intuitive Eating, and Health at Every Size®. She is the co-creator of Intuitive Eating and the author/co-author of five books in the Intuitive Eating collection. She is a chapter contributor to both The Handbook of Positive Body Image and Embodiment and Weight and Wisdom: Reflections on Decades of Working for Body Liberation. In addition, she is the co-founder of Intue, the only official Intuitive Eating app. Elyse has published journal and print articles, blog posts, and does regular speaking engagements, as well as extensive podcast and media interviews. Her work has been profiled on ABC, NPR, CNN, KABC, NBC, KTTV, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, KFI Radio, USA Today, and the Huffington Post, among others. She is nationally known for her work in helping patients break free from diet culture through the Intuitive Eating process. Her philosophy embraces the goal of reconnecting with one’s internal wisdom about eating and developing body liberation, with the belief that all bodies deserve dignity and respect. She is a social justice advocate and consults with and trains health professionals. Elyse’s favorite foods are pasta, bread, and frozen yogurt.
