Rama and His Bow of Time

Time, or Kala, is an eternal principle that is perpetually operating. It is an overwhelming force known to destroy everything, earning it the Sanskrit name that also applies to death. But what if this great devourer is actually a controlled weapon?

Drawing on the profound insight of Goswami Tulsidas, this book presents time as the illustrative bow held by Shri Rama, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The various units of time-from the smallest measurement to the largest conceivable span-are the arrows released from His control.

Delve into the precise Vedic measurements, starting at the granular level with paramanu, the time it takes for the sun to travel over a single atom. See how these basic units stack up through lava (a fraction of a second) and nimesha (the twinkling of an eye), culminating in the vast yugas and the kalpa-a single day in the existence of Lord Brahma, lasting a thousand ages (billions of years by human calculation).

You will gain a complete understanding of time by learning its scale and source. The book illustrates how nimesha became an auspicious unit when it measured the exact, swift moment Rama won the contest by lifting and stringing the mighty bow of Lord Shiva, securing the hand of Sita Devi. This ancient knowledge shows that the controller of time is always in charge and wields the most authority.

When viewed in association with Shri Rama, the otherwise debilitating influence of time is changed into auspicious opportunity. By worshiping the wielder of the Bow of Time, one finds protection from destruction and aligns their existence with the eternal truth, ensuring that every moment-no matter how small, like a lava-matra-can lead to success.
