Upon his return, while practicing law in Sialkot, this dashing bachelor from a conservative Brahmin family falls in love with a nurse Ruby Williams. Just when Vikram and Ruby formalize their relationship, a cryptic letter from his father changes everything. He rushes back home, never to return. Vikram s decision sets off a chain of unintended consequences. A distraught Ruby is unable to give up hope, and eventually reunites with Vikram. But two decades have passed, and Vikram now has a family. Can one choice determine fate? Will the unfortunate family history of the Ranas repeat itself? Unearth in The Ranas of Solan the intricate interplay of society, religion and class and how they affect our lives and relationships.
