A large (13 in. x 10 in.) white envelope with string tie on the back, entitled Random Ephemera 1892-2000 The Rowfant Club. Inside are 25 items just about covering that span. An 8 ½ in. x 11 in. printed sheet introduces the items. (1) A 5 ½ in. x 4 ¼ in. pamphlet announcing the early schedule of the club for the 1985-86 season; (2) A sheet folded twice to form a 6 in. x 9 in. pamphlet of 4 pp. with the complete 1985-86 season (dinners, speakers, subject matters, etc.); (3) an invoice, 5 ¾ in. x 4 ¼ in., undated, for three items written by club members and published by the club; (4) Two copies of a notice of the agenda for the Closing Evening of the Club s 1946-1947 season; (5) An announcement (5 ¾ in. x 7 in.) setting forth the agenda for the final meeting of the Club s 1939-1940 season; (6) A notice of the agenda of the March 28, 1936 meeting of the club; (7) An 8 ½ in. x 11 in. printed announcement of the 1936 Christmas Party. (This item has a closed tear along the left side of a fold at the center of the piece.); (8) A sheet folded for form a 9 in. x 12 in. printed announcement of the 1933 Christmas Party. (This item has tears and chips and a center fold.); (9) Forty Years On! A brochure with b/w photos of some of the rooms in the Club s quarters; 8 ½ in. x 11 in; printed by Horace Carr; limited to 200 copies. (10) A printed notice (6 in. x 3 ¾ in.) reminding members to reserve the evening of March 12, 1932 for a club function; (11) A sheet folded to 5 ¾ in. x 7 in. announcing the agenda for a club meeting on March 31, 1928; (12) A 6 ½ in. x 3 ½ in. envelope with cancelled postage, postmarked Dec. 1923, addressed to Club member Paul Lemperly, containing an announcement of an auction to be held at the club on De. 8m 1923 (13)-(16) Single sheets folded to form 5 ¾ in. x 7 in. printed announcements of the agenda for club meeting held between 1914 and 1922; (17) A 9 in. x 6 in. envelope with cancelled postage, sent to club member Frank Howard Neff; inside is an announcement of the agenda of a meeting set for April 13, 1910; the announcement has a black-and-white drawing of a man writing at a desk, surrounded by various and sundry characters: demons, clowns, witches, etc. A most unusual item and probably very rare; (18) A sheet folded to form a 4-page, 3 ¼ in. x 5 ¾ announcement of the agenda for the meeting of April 17, 1902; (19) An invitation to a Bohemian Time (some kind of drinking party, apparently) held on May 11, 1901; the invite is on a sheet folded to measure 3 ½ in. x 4 ¼ in.; (20) A sheet folded for form a 4-page 4 in. x 9 in. pamphlet announcing an auction of Club odds and ends and listing the items, held on April 27, 1901; (21) A sheet of grey paper folded to form a 4-page, 3 ¼ in. x 5 ¾ announcement of the agenda for the meeting of October 19, 1901; (22) A sheet folded to 3 ½ in. x 4 ½ in announcing the agenda for the meeting of October 29, 1898, a talk by Elbert Hubbard on Shakespeare; (23) A cancelled postcard announcing a meeting of the Council of Fellowes for May 1, 1897; and (24) 5 1/8 in. x 3 ¼ announcement of an exhibition of books with fine bindings. It was held on a Saturday and Sunday in November, but no year is stated. The more recent items, not unexpectedly, are in better shape than the older items. Most items shows folds not only as printed but folds made for mailing. Item 8 is only fair; item 7 is only good. Most of the older are very good, and the newer are fine.
