Synopsis

These are notes that the great reporter Edgar Snow, author of RED STAR OVER CHINA, published in 1938, made during his years traveling and reporting in China prior to the publication of his book. In 1956, at the urging of the Harvard University East Asian Research Center, Mr. Snow transcribed many of his notes and had them published by Harvard for the benefit of researchers. The material had not been previously published and includes data on the Red Army on the Long March, the Sian incident, and notes on Edgar Snow's conversations with FDR.
