DJ is very worn. No underlining. TIDWELL, JOSIAH BLAKE (1870-1946). Josiah Blake Tidwell, Baptist educator, son of Francis and Ann (Chambers) Tidwell, was born in Cleveland, Alabama, on October 8, 1870. The formation of the modern religion department at Baylor stands as Tidwell's enduring legacy. The original Bible department at the university, headed by B. H. Carroll, offered professional training for ministers, and under Carroll's leadership this department became Baylor Theological Seminary in 1905. In 1908 the department became independent of the university, took the name Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and in 1910 moved to Fort Worth. Baylor University next moved to create a new Bible department. Unlike the former department, the new department under Tidwell, who had succeeded Carroll as its head on June 7, 1910, geared its curriculum toward undergraduates and was more a traditional university department. It was still, however, very conservative.

We are located at 88 Blackstock Road, Inman, South Carolina near Interstate 85 (Between Atlanta and Charlotte) west of Spartanburg. Signs will give direction to Inman. Take U.S. 176 West about 6-8 miles to Inman. Coming from Greenville on I-85--- take U.S. 176 West and follow the same direction. Come to a Hardee's on the right and a McDonald's on the left. At the signal light turn left on State 292. Go about 100 yards and turn a soft left on Blackstock Road. Pass two Nursing Homes on the left and we are located behind First Free Will Baptist Church at the end of the parking pavement. We are located from Interstate 26 about 12 miles from the North Carolina line on I-26 East. Take the Inman exist on State 292. Continue through the town of Inman on 292. Come to a signal light at 292 and U.S. 176. See a hardee's on the left and a Fast Phil's on the right. Stay on State 292 under the signal light Go about 100 yards and turn a soft left on Blackstock Road. Pass two Nursing Homes on the left and we are located behind First Free Will Baptist Church at the end of the parking pavement.
