Neuware - Raqs Media Collective wurde von der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien eingeladen, eine Ausstellung mit den Werken der kunsthistorischen Sammlung zu kuratieren. Das aus Indien stammende Kollektiv, das seine Arbeitsweise mit dem Begriff des 'epistemischen Ungehorsams' umschreibt, hat Werke aus der Sammlung ausgewählt, um sie mit gegenwärtigen Positionen zu konfrontieren: Bosch, Dürer, Schiele werden zum Beispiel mit zeitgenössischen Arbeiten von Lakshmana Rao Kotturu, Farideh Lashai, Lavanya Mani kombiniert. Die kanonisierte Ordnung einer eurozentristischen Kunstsammlung gerät so in Bewegung und erlaubt einen anderen, dekolonialen Blick auf die präsentierten Werke. Die Publikation Hungry for Time übersetzt die gleichnamige Ausstellung ins Buch und versammelt als Erweiterung der Ausstellung künstlerische Beiträge von Discursive Justice Ensemble (Kabelo Malatsie, Michelle Wong, Lantian Xie), dem Künstlerinnen-Duo SPLICE (Rohini Devasher und Pallavi Paul), Moonis A. Shah, und Chow and Lin. Raqs Media Collective, gegründet 1992 in Neu Delhi, ist ein international tätiges Kurator innentrio, bestehend aus Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula und Shuddhabrata Sengupta. Das Kollektiv arbeitet international und medienübergreifend. Ingeborg Erhart ist seit 2019 Vizerektorin für Kunst und Lehre an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. Johan Frederik Hartle ist seit 2019 Rektor der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien.--Raqs Media Collective was invited by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna to curate an exhibition of works drawn from the institute's historical art collection. The Indian-based collective, which uses the term 'epistimic disobedience' to describe its way of working, has selected works from the collection which they then set against current positions, such that Bosch, Dürer, Schiele are combined, for example, with contemporary works by Lakshmana Rao Kotturu, Farideh Lashai, and Lavanya Mani. The canonized order of a Eurocentric art collection is thus moved from its fixed state, offering a different, decolonial angle on the works presented. The publication Hungry for Time translates the exhibition of the same name into book form and, as an extension of the exhibition, puts together artistic contributions from the Discursive Justice Ensemble (Kabelo Malatsie, Michelle Wong, Lantian Xie), the artist duo SPLICE (Rohini Devasher and Pallavi Paul), Moonis A. Shah, and Chow and Lin. Founded in New Delhi in 1992, Raqs Media Collective is made up of Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula, and Shuddhabrata Sengupta, a trio of curators who are active on the global scene. The collective works internationally across different media. Ingeborg Erhart has been vice-rector for art and teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna since 2019.
