I read the description for this book to my almost 10-year old daughter, and her first reaction was to hop up in down in place chanting "YES, YES, YES!" I take it she liked the idea!
I got it for her on Kindle Unlimited and sent it to her PC. She buried her nose in it and finished about twenty minutes later, and eagerly sent me her review:

Awesome! She enjoyed it a lot, and felt she learned something. That's what any parent wants from a kid's book, right?
Well, I can't stop there. I'm an unschooling mom, so I love to know what my kid is into. I gave it a read myself, and I had to upgrade this to a five-star book.

For one, the art is absolutely adorable. It really is.

This book reminds me of the old saying, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, feed him for life." The Racoon learns about kindness and plants his own farm.

To top off the great lesson, the story is filled with colorful pictures.

I really enjoyed the message behind this story. It was a very clever way of putting a message into an enjoyable read. I absolutely loved the illustrations in this book. A fun read for kids and grandkids.
