Begotten
By Judith LaManna Rivette

In the quiet village of Dyne, New York, secrets never truly die, they wait.

Nestled along the shores of Spirit Lake, Dyne appears to be a peaceful community shaped by generations of tradition. But beneath its calm surface lies a dark history of corruption, ritual abuse, and buried evil, one that was thought to have ended decades ago.

When Bridget Dalton is found dead under suspicious circumstances, her death is quickly ruled a suicide. But those closest to her know better.

Natalia Negro, a nurse and one of Dyne’s mysterious “Witch Women”—begins to sense that something sinister has returned. Guided by ancestral knowledge, prophetic dreams, and a deep connection to Spirit Lake, Natalia and her mother Crestina uncover chilling truths: the past has not been laid to rest… it has begotten something new.

As old societies stir, powerful figures manipulate justice, and long-hidden secrets resurface, Natalia must confront a terrifying reality, evil doesn’t disappear. It evolves.

Blending supernatural mystery, historical intrigue, and psychological suspense, Begotten is a haunting tale of legacy, power, and the consequences of what is left behind.

The author, from Central New York, best known for her best-selling local histories, a novel and a children's book, has created this inspirational read and recipe book series to share quiet moments and thoughts with her reader following.
