About this title

Synopsis

Ray's Modern Intellectual Arithmetic is a revised edition of Joseph Ray's Intellectual Arithmetic, first published in 1869. This updated version was published in 1905 and aimed to provide students with a comprehensive guide to arithmetic. The book covers a range of topics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as more advanced topics such as fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ray's approach is based on the idea of mental arithmetic, encouraging students to solve problems in their heads rather than relying on written methods. The book includes numerous exercises and examples, as well as helpful tips and tricks for solving problems quickly and accurately. Overall, Ray's Modern Intellectual Arithmetic is a valuable resource for students and teachers alike, providing a solid foundation in arithmetic and mathematical thinking. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
