This book is part of the outreach programs of HeartSupport—an organization created by Grammy-nominated musician Jake Luhrs of the metal band August Burns Red. It features a bonus workbook and journal in addition to insight from medical advisor, Dr. Michelle Saari. Dr. Saari is a licensed mental health provider, board-certified clinical supervisor, and nationally certified counselor. Proceeds from this book will continue to help fund further projects by HeartSupport in the realm of recovery. The author receives no royalties.

Benjamin Sledge is the Director of Operations for HeartSupport. Prior to joining the organization, he spent eleven years in the US Army with tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is the recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and two Army Commendation Medals for his actions overseas.
In addition to his role within the organization, Ben is a voracious reader and writer. He has authored several viral articles that have been featured in numerous publications. While writing is his passion, he dabbles in graphic design (where he received his degree) and leads young adult ministry at his local church. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and daughter where he does his part keeping Austin weird by adding to his collection of tattoos.

About the Mental Health Advisor: Dr. Michelle Saari sits on the Board of Directors for HeartSupport and has served as a mental health professional for over fifteen years. She holds both a PhD and master's degree in psychology and is a licensed mental health provider and board-certified clinical supervisor in the state of Minnesota. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor through the NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors).
