Each chapter contains the same theme or topic for both the practice paragraphs and longer readings-facilitating reading comprehension and related writing and speaking activities. Includes a comprehensive "Vocabulary Preview" in each chapter as well as "Word Attack" lessons and instruction on how to use a dictionary at the end of the book. Added to the end of each chapter, mastery tests quiz readers on their vocabulary and comprehension of the skills taught in each chapter.
