About the Author

Jeffrey D. Wilhelm is the author of twelve books for teachers, including Reading Don't Fix No Chevy's, for which he and Michael Smith were awarded the David H. Russell Award for Distinguished Research in English Education. He wad a middle school reading teacher and high school English teacher for 13 years and taught for 8 years at the University of Maine where he directed the Maine Writing Project. He currently teaches at Boise State University and is the director of the Boise State Writing Project.
