A well used copy of this illustrated "reader": "Note.- Teachers are recommended to tell the child the letters over and over again, and to help it to spell, as by this means it will find delight in its book. The words must always be spelt, for otherwise the Child would name the pictures without looking at the words". The book is well used, missing the fep with an owners stamp on the front pastedown - Dochie Macfarlane. Front gutter stretched and boards marked and worn. Study copy only. See scans.
