The Real Book for Beginning Violin Students (D and A Strings): Seventy Famous Songs Using Just Six Notes

The Real Book for Beginning String Players is the perfect musical companion for young beginners eager to develop their music reading skills. With its innovative approach, this book presents seventy famous songs that utilize only six different notes, making it accessible and engaging for early learners.

The book is divided into two sections: the first half features letter names inside the note heads, providing a helpful visual aid for beginners to associate the notes with their corresponding letters. This assists in building a solid foundation of music literacy. In the second half of the book, the letter names are removed, encouraging students to rely solely on their growing understanding of note placement and music theory.

One of the standout features of this book is its extra-large notation, making it easy for young eyes to read and follow along. The simplified arrangements ensure that students can tackle each song with confidence, gradually building their repertoire.

To prevent overwhelming the learner, the book presents a limited amount of material per page. This allows students to focus on one concept at a time, progressively advancing their music reading abilities. The instructions and sheet music are presented in an easy-to-read format, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable learning experience.

The Real Book for Beginning String Players boasts a large selection of classic and time-tested songs. From folk tunes to popular melodies, this diverse repertoire exposes students to a wide range of musical styles, fostering an appreciation for music history. The inclusion of well-known songs also adds an element of familiarity and fun, motivating students to practice and progress.
