A Real God For Real Life: Drawing You into a Daily Walk with God

What happens when two ordinary people decide they don’t want to settle for an ordinary Christian life?
Charles and Joyce Sibthorpe’s remarkable story begins in the 1970s, at a time when the Holy Spirit was bringing fresh life to churches and Christians across Britain. Having encountered the reality of the Holy Spirit for themselves, they embarked on a journey to discover what it meant to live wholeheartedly for God – trusting him for direction, provision, healing and the opportunities to serve him.
From an old grocery shop in Cornwall, where they led a youth group of almost 200 young people, to the pioneering work of Cornwall Mission and later Kingdom Faith, their journey took them into the heart of the British house church and charismatic renewal movements.
Along the way they witnessed extraordinary answers to prayer: miraculous healing, supernatural provision, changed lives and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Yet this is not simply a story of revival meetings and remarkable experiences. It is the story of learning to trust God in the ordinary pressures of family life, ministry and the unknown.
With warmth, honesty and a generous helping of hindsight, Charles and Joyce look back over the people, places and experiences that shaped their lives – and ask a question that remains as relevant today as it was when their journey began:
Is God still the same God we read about in the New Testament?
A Real God for Real Life is an invitation to believe that God’s best may be found not in an easy or predictable life, but in following him wherever he leads.

Charles and Joyce started married life in Cornwall, sharing their first home with their 200-strong youth group, raised 5 children, worked with a major ministry in Sussex, planted a church in Somerset, pioneered a Family Camp and have travelled extensively in the UK, Europe and Africa. They have both written several books and a daily devotional, Faith Food for Every Day. Their goal has been to give encouragement and stimulate faith. This book shares their experience, which has proved that A Real God equips you for Real Life.
