What kind of man are you becoming? What kind of man are you raising?

Real Men vs. Plastic Men delivers a powerful and necessary conversation about modern masculinity, identity, and responsibility among Black men. Drawing a clear distinction between “Real Men” who lead with integrity and presence, and “Plastic Men” who perform masculinity without substance, this book challenges cultural norms and generational patterns that have left deep scars across families and communities.

Through vivid storytelling, hard truths, and heartfelt reflections, Elbert Jones Jr. exposes the roots of absent fatherhood, emotional immaturity, and toxic behavior — while offering a path forward through character, healing, and truth. He explores the influence of media, the role of Black women, the crisis of uninitiated manhood, and the urgent need for Real Men to step up as fathers, mentors, protectors, and leaders.

This is more than a book. It’s a movement. It’s for the man ready to rise, the woman demanding better, and the community longing for change.
