If Only We Were Real

What if the greatest love story you ever lived… was never real?

Arjun believed heartbreak was the end—until it became his beginning.

Shattered after losing Kavya, the girl he thought was his forever, Arjun buries himself in books and pain. His hard work earns him a place at IIT, but it’s not success that saves him—it’s Ishani. A free-spirited Bengali girl with a love for literature and fire in her soul, she sees through Arjun’s silence. Together, they create a world of whispered secrets, starlit conversations, and stolen happiness.

But beneath the magic lies a haunting truth.
None of it ever happened.

In a heart-wrenching twist, readers discover that everything—every moment of joy, pain, love—was part of Ishani’s coma-induced dream. In reality, she is a 17-year-old girl lying in an ICU, her mind escaping a world where she had lost too much—her brother, her relationship, her will to go on.

But this is not where her story ends.
It’s where it begins.

Through therapy, writing, and time, Ishani rebuilds herself—scarred, but not shattered. She grows into a brilliant scientist, an acclaimed author, and eventually, a woman loved for who she is, not who she once was.

“If Only We Were Real” is a poignant, poetic journey through love, illusion, trauma, and rebirth.
It asks: What does it mean to be real?
And reminds us that even the dreams we wake up from… can change us forever.
