xxxi + 350pp. 8.5 x 5 inch. Beautifully bound and still tightly bound, interior in very nice clean condition with just some light foxing to end pages, marbled edges, marbled end papers, gilt decorated turn-in or overlap. Originating from the famous Portal collection which was sold off in the 1990s, contains the armorial bookplate of Melville Portal (1819-1904) of Laverstoke (MP, JP, and High Sheriff of Hampshire). Gilt titling to maroon and black labels to ribbed spine, Gilt decoration to front and back boards, couple of small scratches to front board. The author label on spine shows 'Pusey II', there was only 1 volume of this work but I do have another book in identical binding of Parochial Sermons with 'Pusey I' on spine which was published a year earlier so I suspect this was just how Portal ordered them from his binder.
